500hp 440 mopar

The 440 is a great motor, but it's huge and was a pain to install in my wayfarer. Nothing like setting the firewall back almost a foot. Mine has keith black pistons, comp xtreme energy cam, edelbrock intake and carb and the mopar performance electronic ignition. Here is a cool fact my 440 BBC made 550 hp and 513 tq. My 426 wedge made 520 hp and 552 tq, with less head, cam and compression. Both engines had RPM performer heads and intake. Cam spec for the 427 was .585/.585 lift and .245/.255 @.050 was a hyd roller. Mopar 426 cam is a lunati solid lifter cam. Here is a cool fact my 440 BBC made 550 hp and 513 tq. OK,I want to build a 500hp 440 i have a 73" motor home steel crank i have been told without taking it apart yet that it has six pack rods and flat tops,it also has a pair of 75" 452 heads on it,i seem to be having trouble looking this motor up,is the bore and stroke different on this engine being in a motor home.do i really need to go to 2.14 and 1.81 valves to acomplish 500hp. or can i run ... 440/525: 4.375 stroke x 7.100 rod. We’re gettttiiinnng biiiggger! This is a great combination for heavier vehicles that still want to maintain an internal oil pick up tube. Station wagons, trucks, B and C bodies with full interior are common recipients of this stroker combination. Lots of stroke (read: torque) to motivate a 3800+lb Mopar. Not the HEMI, as many historian’s will offer, but the 440 which single handedly dominated during the ‘60’s, overcoming many a challenge from 428cid Ford Mustangs and 396-powered Camaros.
